The RockLab presents: two bands, one night, pure rock.
A night of rescue, virtuosity and rock at the RockLab: HANG OUT step up a level
The night promised thrills as the calendar rolled on towards an evening when HANG OUT once again showed what the real rock family is made of. With a turnout dented by the distance and a late start that put the main acts on at midnight, the most loyal fans still turned up to back the band.
From storm to salvation: HANG OUT to the rescue
The evening began with Karadura, an original-material band with a country-rock bent. But it wasn't their night: after just five songs they had to leave the stage.
That's when HANG OUT came charging to the rescue. Bringing their set forward and putting their foot down without a second thought, the band swept away any hint of apathy and sent the whole crowd home with the best possible taste in their mouths thanks to their crushing sound.
New stripes and pinpoint punch on stage
This gig marked an absolute turning point for the line-up, showing a massive leap in quality and an undeniable evolution in sound.
Rick's pulse: the night was Rick's big debut as the band's official bassist. Rightly considered one of the best bassists in the whole of San Sebastián de los Reyes — having previously proved a safe pair of hands as a stand-in — Rick burst in armed with his imposing 5-string bass. His punch, his technique and the depth of his tone lift the band into another dimension, giving the overall groove a clear edge.
Ballo's virtuosity: following Pedro's departure and the diary clashes that ruled out Rodri carrying on, the band went all in on signing Ballo on lead guitar. With an enviable arsenal of tricks and techniques at his fingertips, he slots perfectly into the band's hard rock sound, serving up dizzying, clean licks that had the crowd spellbound.
An electric, streetwise live show with no compromises
The set was a steamroller from start to finish, greased by Borja's solidity on rhythm guitar and Jorge's tireless hitting on drums, rolling out the perfect carpet for Pablo's visceral vocals up front. The classics came thick and fast with crushing solidity, proving the band have racked up some enviable road miles.
The instrumental climax of the night came with «Sweet Child O’ Mine». The band had prepared a very special intro to whet the appetite and sparked collective madness with an intense, triumphant finale, nailing that electric, unbridled atmosphere that recalls the great moments of the legendary live rock shows of the nineties.
The close of an indestructible family
With throats shredded and the crowd fully won over after a ravenous run through the best songs in their set, it was time to ease off the throttle and celebrate a job well done. Squeezing out the last chords of the night, the band signed off in style, introducing each member beneath the smoking cymbals and bidding farewell with a promise to keep devouring stages — and a reminder that, come what may, HANG OUT's heartbeat sounds louder than ever.
