A historic anniversary: HANG OUT's total triumph at Monkey Rock

The night of 26 September 2026 will go down in HANG OUT history. Monkey Rock was rammed to the rafters and the «house full» sign went up: friends, followers and the band's faithful packed the place until you couldn't have squeezed a pin in. And no wonder, because there was plenty to celebrate: on the one hand, the band's first anniversary on stage; on the other, a full-blown birthday bash for one of the band's most devoted superfans, Silvia, the drummer's wife.

A no-safety-net opener and an atmosphere of pure euphoria

With no screens or gimmicks at Monkey Rock, the band went straight for the jugular, opening fire with a crash of cymbals and a blistering start to the beat of Blitzkrieg Bop, Pongamos que hablo de Madrid and Smells Like Teen Spirit. The atmosphere was electric, the crowd all in from the very first second, singing every verse without pause, backed by an imposing vocal foundation: Rick nailed the backing vocals on absolutely every song, blending in and lifting the band's sound to another level.

Guest artists and star turns on stage

For a party of this calibre, the Monkey Rock stage became a proper launch pad for great friends and collaborators of the HANG OUT family.

Kira's star return: the incredible Kira once again left everyone's jaws on the floor. She took lead vocals for a gutsy take on the classic I Love Rock ’n’ Roll and then merged into a magical duet with Pablo on the ever-anticipated Sweet Child O’ Mine.

Introducing Ballo: it was the perfect moment for Ballo's first appearance; he played Flojos de pantalón and was officially introduced to the crowd as the band's future guitarist, picking up the baton as Rodri says goodbye.

The emotional touch: one of the most heart-warming moments of the night came when, with Kira on stage, the whole place burst into Happy Birthday on guitar, just before the band segued masterfully into the iconic riff of Sweet Child O’ Mine.

A visit from the early days: Víctor (Popi), a member from HANG OUT's beginnings, didn't miss it either, coming back to add his talent and leave his mark on Whole Lotta Rosie.

An unbeatable setlist and a sky-high finale

The setlist was a proper steamroller of street-level hard rock, stitched together with pinpoint precision by Jorge's drumming, Jhony's bass and the guitars of Borja and Rodri, who was signing off in style. There were memorable stretches like You Give Love a Bad Name (with that dynamic interplay of synchronised hits across the instruments before it kicks in), Dolores se llamaba Lola, Rockin’ in the Free World, Agotados de esperar el fin, Rock You Like a Hurricane, Vicio, T.N.T., Ama, ama, ama y ensancha el alma, Te visitará la muerte, Frío and an En blanco y negro during which Pablo introduced the band members one by one.

The result couldn't have been more triumphant: a night when the crowd didn't stop singing for a single second and HANG OUT proved their first year on stage has been celebrated in the grandest possible style.
