Rock, family and camaraderie at Locales Jendrix: HANG OUT and The Socals' unforgettable party

Looking back takes us straight to 31 January 2026, a date burned into HANG OUT's calendar. With the Sanse Scrum Rugby Club lending a special hand with the organisation, Locales Jendrix hosted a very unusual and heart-warming day, designed for the whole family to enjoy, parents and kids sharing a passion for live music.

The Socals: rockabilly, technique and class on stage

The afternoon kicked off in style with guest band The Socals. They treated us to a set packed with legendary rock and rockabilly classics that turned the place upside down, belting out genuine anthems such as Elvis's Burning Love, Should I Stay or Should I Go, Pretty Woman and You Really Got Me.

The whole band's technique on stage bordered on perfection. Credit where it's due to the infectious joy and boundless energy of Juan Carlos on drums, the understated elegance of the guitars and, of course, the undeniable vocal quality and charisma of their leader and lead singer, who had the crowd completely spellbound.

Rick's debut and the HANG OUT onslaught

With the room nicely warmed up, it was HANG OUT's turn to blow the stage apart. This gig had an extra-special twist and marked an important turning point: it was Rick's first gig on bass, stepping in during Jhony's temporary absence. Rick showed enviable stagecraft and know-how, slotting perfectly into the band's machinery from the very first chord.

The gig was a proper steamroller from start to finish. With not a script in sight, the band tore through a devastating set while the all-ages crowd — grown-ups and little ones alike singing every verse — turned the venue into a real party. From the most punk, in-your-face outbursts to heavy hard-rock passages, the band sounded tight and unleashed, with Jorge hitting brutally hard on drums, Borja's rock-solid rhythm guitar, Pedro's guitar mastery and Pablo's voice, which had the crowd in his pocket.

The moments of banter with the crowd, the fake endings with a dash to the dressing room only to come back and devour the stage again, and the constant rapport with the audience pushed the temperature at Jendrix to 100%. To top it all off, Víctor, an original member of HANG OUT, got up to cut loose with the band on Whole Lotta Rosie. As the cherry on top of an afternoon as family-friendly as it was rowdy, the day closed with a fun raffle of official T-shirts from both bands, setting the bar sky-high and sealing a one-of-a-kind rock brotherhood.
